Delivering Competitive Sport for all
Young People
The West Wiltshire School Sport Partnership
strives to support and develop competitive opportunities for young people of
all abilities.
Access to regular and appropriate competitive sport is
crucial to the development of every young person and we are determined to
extend the breadth and depth of competition in every school. Over the coming
years, the partnership will continue to support schools in developing further
high quality opportunities in:
- Intra School Sport
- Inter School Sport
The partnership will work together with local school
sports associations, Wiltshire and Swindon Activity Sports Partnership,
National Governing Bodies and the Youth Sport Trust to implement the new
"School Games" to compliment all the outstanding competitions currently taking
place.
A menu of opportunities will be available in the summer
2011.

VolunteeringYoung people from across West Wiltshire SSP have for
the last 8 years been developing their leadership skills and supporting their
schools and communities through active volunteering.
With the onset of
London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games it is imperative that the inspiration
of the Games coming to the UK is used to encourage and support more young
people to lead healthy active lifestyles.
Through the leadership
programs delivered in a number of primary schools and all secondary schools we
have the opportunity to use young people to inspire their peers, as well as
increase the opportunity for more young people to take part.
The Youth
Sport Trust, Young Ambassador Program will also form a large part of the
Partnerships leadership pathway, with representatives from each secondary
school making up the Partnership Leadership Academy.
