Fun in the Park 2008 Warminster Town Park is a
wonderful asset for the town. In order for the children of Warminster to
appreciate this resource and use it properly the West Wilts Schools Sport
Partnership, organised a day of activities for the Year 6 children from all the
local primary schools.
Among the activities which all the children took
part in were skate boarding, sum wrestling, golf, tennis, fitness, 'ultimate
frisbee' and using the pedloes on the lake. Most of the sessions were taken by
specialist coaches.
174 children from 9 primary schools attended the day
and had great fun in the Town Park.
The Warminster Primary Schools brought their dance
teams to Kingdown School and presented their dances to each other. The finale
was a dance by Kingdown's 'Wildfire' Dance Group who gave an outstanding
performance.
